a:tach®

pronounced exactly like the word “attach”, is how each different parts of the Slingah System™ come together to solve a number of specific problems that I have had with my previous backpacks.

Founded in Hong Kong by an architecture graduate.

I love how intimate architectural design is to how someone experiences a space, but I hate how long it takes to really make an impact in their world, especially in a dense, concrete jungle like Hong Kong.

I want to make a change in the world with my designs, even if that only means impacting one person at a time, tackling inconveniences in their daily lives. This motivates me a lot more than designing and perfecting a toilet for 10 years.

And even though I no longer work in the architectural field, its education taught me about design processes and gave me what I needed to start my own design journey.

Fresh Designs Meet 30+ years of Backpack Making Experiences

After graduation, as I was exploring different careers, the irregular schedules and daily activities made me realize how annoying it is to repack all the time, how easy it is to forget and leave something behind. And the idea dawned on me when my mom complained about that to me one day ( Hey mom :D )

I tried to search for solutions online but there were none that fitted our needs. Different solutions on the market were either too cumbersome, or posed some serious security concerns with our essentials.

That is where I reach out to my aunt, who worked in the backpack manufacturing field for over 30 years, to ask for guidance.

After working with a long list of high-end, European clients for years, my aunt has sufficient knowledge about what makes a good, durable design that actually works in daily lives, and she was taught me how that is done from the beginning to the end.

With her help, my designs went from absolute nonsense to something that can actually help with people's lives. And the idea was further established by the enormous support we had with our very first Kickstarter campaign, launched in March 2025, where we were able to fundraise over USD$120,000 to bring our vision alive.

We know that in order to travel far, we cannot do it alone, and that's why we also gathered a group of Designahs to share different thoughts and ideas on future iterations of the Slingah System™, so we can really design what the world wants and realize our vision of an inclusive ecosystem.

This is how we started and what we believe in.
